Up-and-Coming Idaho Wine Region
This northern region has plenty to be proud of—like being the birthplace of Idaho wine way back in the 1860s—and lots of opportunity. Located in the Lewis-Clark AVA, Lewiston is home to a small but growing wine scene. The warm days and cool nights in this area are known for producing incredible Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, and Riesling.
You won’t find vineyards in Moscow, but you will find tasting rooms for the surrounding wineries and plenty to do. Plan a hike through one of the beautiful state parks or bike through one of many trails. Hit the farmers market and sample local produce and products. Take in the nature views at the University of Idaho Arboretum & Botanical Garden, or get a glimpse into pioneer days in Moscow at the Appaloosa Museum and Heritage Center.
We could go on and on about all there is to do here, but for more you really should check out our friends at Visit LC Valley.
