In-demand modern jazz vocalist Jenna McLean joins the Alex Sjobeck Trio featuring New York City based drummer Chris Smith and Mountain West bassist Braun Khan. Jenna McLean is an accomplished modern jazz vocalist with a penchant for celebrating timeless standards with improvisational prowess, swing and simplicity that feels familiar yet contemporary. Jenna was a semi-finalist in the 2023 American Traditions Vocal Competition and the 2019 winner of the Downbeat Student Music Awards Graduate Vocal Soloist Category. She has performed at countless renowned venues nationwide and has had the pleasure of performing alongside renowned musicians such as Joel Frahm, Pat Coil, Bobby McFerrin, Aubrey Logan and the New York Voices.Drummer Chris Smith is a performing artist, author, and educator based in New York City. He has performed with a wide variety of jazz musicians including Randy Brecker, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Dick Oatts, and vocalist Patti Austin. As the drummer in the Birdland Big Band he performs every Friday at the world-famous NYC club.
