The crop most associated with Idaho is, of course, the potato, but as the American wine industry seeks out new AVAs, the Gem State has proved to be a bit of a treasure. In particular, a number of women winemakers who came to the profession later in life have been leading the state’s viticultural revolution.
Split Rail Winery creates wines that are spawned from whimsy and driven by heartache. We fancy the Rhone varietals and love a bit of the unconventional. We produce boutique bottles, kegs, wine in can, and do wine growler fills at the tasting room. We also dabble in wine produced in concrete. With our tasting room located minutes from downtown Boise, we represent a new and exciting spin on Idaho wines.
