2021 November 2

Famici Wine Company

Our winery name blends the Italian words for family and friends (famiglia + amici), and we operate with the spirit and hard work of this amazing group of people – our Famici. We produce hand-crafted wines from grapes grown in our estate vineyard in the Sunnyslope district. Varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Primitivo, Vermentino, and Graciano. We anticipate opening to the public in the spring of 2022.

Pend d'Oreille Winery

Pend d’Oreille Winery was established in 1995 by Steve and Julie Meyer.  In 2017, The Bopp and Presta families purchased the winery and continue to produce exceptional wines in the style and tradition originated by the Meyers.  Jim Bopp has been the lead winemaker for Pend d’Oreille Winery for 11 years. Kylie Presta is the wine chemist and assists with winemaking and operations.  The Pend d’Oreille Winery produces 14 varietals of carefully crafted wine.  Our tasting room and gift shop at 301 Cedar Street is open daily from 11-8:00 pm for wine tastings, bottle purchases, lunch and dinner.  We serve artisan pizzas, salads, soup, and delicious farmer’s boards to pair with favorite wines.   The Pend d’Oreille winery offers live music every Friday and Saturday night and piano music on Sunday afternoons.  Our walls are a gallery for local artists and we focus on community involvement through service.

We are proud to offer a refill program and reduce the amount of glass waste contributed to the landfill.  Our refill program is growing as we refill over 350 1.5L bottles in the tasting room each month and we have satellite refill stations in Coeur d’Alene and surrounding areas.  The Pend d’Oreille Winery also offers an extensive wine club and we welcome new members every day! No cost to join.  Our menus and wine club information may be found at www.powine.com.

Syringa Winery

Syringa Winery was conceived out of my love for wine, winemaking, and the winemaker lifestyle. I have worked as an Enologist and Assistant Winemaker for a number of years for other wineries in Washington and Idaho, gaining the experience I need to carry out my dream of owning and operating my own small boutique winery. I attended Walla Walla Community College and Washington State University, graduating with a degree in Enology and Viticulture. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Production Management BBA from Boise State University. The Syringa name, which was originally taken from the Idaho State Flower, is also my niece’s name. My late sister, Heather, named her only daughter Syringa. I was inspired to name my winery after her since she I such a special person in my life. The name is really a celebration of my dynamic sister and her life that was so special to so many people. Syringa Winery specializes in making wines from grapes grown in the Snake River Valley AVA. The wines are crafted using labor-intensive, traditional wine making techniques, i.e., frequent visits to the vineyards to hand-sample and taste the fruit before harvest; fruit sorting and picking by hand; manually punching down in open-top fermenters; gentle squeezing in a bladder and basket press; individual topping off barrels monthly and racking each barrel four times a year. The wines are unfiltered, unfined and cellared in separate vineyard lots in American, French, and Hungarian oak barrels. The “free run” and “pressed wines” are place in separate barrels for aging, and then later blended by discerning palates.
