Idaho Wine and Cider Month
Jun 1 @ 9:00 am – Jun 29 @ 9:00 pm
Idaho Wine and Cider Month
Eleven years ago, the state of Idaho declared June as Idaho Wine and Cider Month to commemorate our growing wine industry and encourage Idahoans to support our local grape growers and winemakers. Named one of the fastest-growing wine regions in the country, our great state is home to more than 60 wineries and vineyards with 1,300 acres of growing grapes. Idaho Wine and Cider Month looks different this year, but there are still many ways to support Idaho wine and cider! Click on the icons below to view Idaho Wine and Cider month promotions.

The class will be led by the head cider maker at Meriwether Cider Gig Leadbetter who has been making cider from Meriwether for 5 years and has won many awards for his ciders including multiple Best in Shows at GLINTCAP and several Double Golds from Sip Northwest Best of the Northwest.

Class alone will cost $50 and an additional $50 for cider making equipment (picked up locally or shipped for an extra fee) *

All the basics will be covered in the class including how to:

-pick the type of apple juice

-propagate and pitch yeast

-measure specific gravity

-siphon (rack) cider

-experiment with flavors in your cider

-the history of cider, and much more!

By the end of the two classes, you’ll be well on your way in your cider journey!

*It is not recommended to do the class without equipment, we are offering the “class alone” ticket for homebrewers who already own all the equipment they’ll need.
