*This event is SOLD OUT.* Camp Vino – The Day-Tripper’s Guide to Idaho Wine Welcome to Camp Vino! We at the Idaho Wine Commission know wine can be intimidating. There are so many different kinds, years, and even vocab that can be daunting. Camp Vino is a new, day-long event designed to teach wine basics, help explore Idaho’s Sunnyslope wine region, and have fun! It will take place on Sunday, September 15 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The seven-hour tour will begin with a chartered bus taking ‘campers’ to the Sunnyslope wine region. Along the way, guides will lead campers through experiences with wine, games, wine, trivia, wine, and prizes (and wine)! Throughout the day Idaho grape growers, winemakers, and local business owners will share:

• The history of Idaho Wines
• The culture of Idaho wines
• How wine grapes grow
• How wine is made
• How to drink wine
• How to pair wine with food
• How to talk about wine
• How to visit a tasting room
• And even How to buy wine at the grocery store (we’ve all been in that intimidating isle).

Campers will have breakfast, lunch, snacks and plenty of samples of vino. More Details Why is it called Camp Vino? Remember how fun summer camp used to be? You’d get out of your comfort zone to learn new things like how to shoot an arrow or climb a tree. You’d make new friends and gorge on s’mores. Camp Vino is like that—a day camp for big kids. It will be an action-packed day where you can learn new things, connect with others and sip your way through Idaho’s finest. What will we do? Your camp guides will meet campers for sign in at the Boise Co-Op at Meridian. From here, campers will get on a chartered bus and head to the Sunnyslope wine region of Idaho in Caldwell. During the day-long adventure you’ll learn about:

• The History of Idaho Wines
• The Science of Growing Grapes
• How Wine is Made
• How Food and Wine Work Together
• The Culture of Idaho Wines
• How to Drink Wine
• How to Buy Wine

What if I don’t know anything about wine? Good! That means you’ll learn some cool new things throughout the day. No one needs to be a Sommelier-level (or even wine snob level) to attend. Since Camp Vino will cover the basics, it is perfect for those who know they like wine but don’t know much about it and aren’t comfortable throwing out words like terroir or viticulture. Who should join Camp Vino?

• You enjoy trying and learning new things.
• You like wine, beer or cocktails.
• You make a point to support local business and buy local/shop small.
• You want to be more comfortable sharing, talking about and buying wine.
• You haven’t tried Idaho’s wines or been out to Idaho wine country.
• You’re new to Idaho or the Treasure Valley and want to meet others.
• You like to have fun!

  What all comes with my ticket? Camp Vino tickets will include transportation to and from Idaho wine country, lunch, wine tasting fees for four wineries, snacks, guided instruction, winery activities, swag bags, and more! What should I bring? Pack your camp basics to prepare for an Idaho summer day. That means campers should come with comfortable shoes (you’ll be walking out in the vineyards), sunscreen, water, and a camera for epic selfies. Other questions?
